I managed to get all of them to join my group but a horde of zombies had encircled us. Right click anywhere then you'll see an option called set area something, there's a choice called set base area click it then use left click and drag all over your place, even though the area isn't highlighted it is working then once you're done right click once again, select set area, then click base area and click set.

2. Barricade does not work half the time. The NPCs just sit there and no nothing, or they will barricade 1 window and stop. Gun reloading issues. NPCs in the companion role wont reload guns when needed. If you tell them to return to base while in the companion role the first thing they will do is reload their gun.The game will lag/pause, sometimes stop responding, for a few seconds.
